Blacksmithing Experience

When most people think of a swordsmith, they probably think of the brave figure of forging bright red steel with a large hammer. In this course, you can actually experience training with a large hammer. As a souvenir to commemorate your participation, you will receive a gift of "drops of steel" produced in the process of making Japanese swords.

*Those under the age of 15 must be accompanied by a guardian (accompaniment is free. Only participants can participate)

Kozuka (small sword) hardening experience

Experience the same process of making Japanese swords in about 3 hours

It is possible to design the blade pattern of a Japanese sword freely by yourself. In this course, you will be able to experience the process of placing clay on a small sword by yourself, firing it, and checking the blade pattern on the spot. You will be able to see what kind of blade pattern will be created after the blade is polished. You can take home the finished product on the day.

Blacksmith shop visit

Tour the workshop while learning how to make and appreciate Japanese swords.

In this one-hour course, you can actually touch tama-hagane, the material used to make Japanese swords, and learn the key points to appreciate Japanese swords. You will be able to experience traditional Japanese culture while experiencing firsthand the site of Japanese sword making.
